PROGRAMMES + INITIATIVES

In commemoration of the 101st anniversary of Michael Collins' death and celebration of his life, the COL-LINS MLD Pro Bono Team are spearheading a number of new programmes & initiatives working in partnership with like-minded CSR-focused corporations (Cycle of Life Partners) and development-focused organisations (Horizon Initiatives), to provide basic needs - food & water, shelter & clothing, sanitation & healthcare, rehabilitation & education, life-skills & youth development, etc. - in order to empower & enable tomorrow's leaders and break the downward cycle of poverty by creating an upward cycle of change:

COL-LINS SAFE HOUSE PROGRAMME

The COLLINS Safe House Program offers at-risk and vulnerable children and women a safe and secure environment to rehabilitate and flourish.  Examples include rescue centers, academic/vocational academies and clinics for victims of FGM, domestic abuse, HIV/AIDs, etc.   The COLLINS Safe House Program was created to support the MLD Network of Grassroots Projects, which include non-profit organizations recognized & supported by intergovernmental organizations, international NGOs and private foundations (e.g. USAID, U.S. Department of State, PEPFAR, FAO, World Food Programme, Global Affairs Canada, Austrian Development Agency, Virgin Unite, Obama Foundation, etc.).

COL-LINS MEDIA FOR DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE

The COLLINS Media for Development Initiative works to generate global awareness & support for the MLD Network of Grassroots Projects.  The Initiative is driven through a partnership with our media unit, Roofbox Media, led by our veteran media team (BBC, CNN, National Geographic, Smithsonian, etc.).

COL-LINS APPLIED-BASED RESEARCH INITIAITIVE

Focuses on developing/sourcing and supporting low-cost sustainable development interventions/innovations in the developing world and least developed world.  The Initiative is driven through a partnership with our affiliated research institute, LINS Institute, led by its Top-Tier University Graduate & Faculty Emeritus Team (Purdue University, Cornell University, University of Florida, University of Iowa, Columbia University, University of Wisconsin, etc.).

SPORTS, ARTS & PHOTOGRAPHY PROGRAMME

The COL-LINS SAM Initiative strives to organise scholastic opportunities for at-risk and vulnerable children/young people, particularly those demonstrating the potential and dedication to pursue a professional career in Sports, Arts and Media academic disciplines.

"MLD" stands for Major League Development, which represents our:

1.) association with U.S. international development organizations (Purdue University, USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, etc.); and

2.) combined expertise & experience across Sustainable Development, Media for Development and Sports for Development & Peace.
